Building Division
The Building Division, a part of the Community Development Department, is responsible for issuing permits for all new construction or modifications to existing properties, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments within the city. Permits are processed through the Community Development Office, where our Building Official oversees the application process.
All projects are required to comply with the Florida Building Code to ensure the safety and integrity of structures. To verify compliance, a city building inspector who conducts regular site visits, ensuring that work meets the required standards. The City of Bunnell also employs a Fire Inspector who is responsible for plan reviews and inspections related to fire safety.

Building Permits
Permitting applications can be found on the city’s website with a checklist outlining all required permitting documents. Completed submittal packages can be made by way of the city’s online permitting portal linked below, or hard copies can be submitted in person during regular business hours.
Inspections
Inspections are scheduled by calling the Building Division directly at 386-437-7516. Residential inspections occur Monday thru Thursday, and commercial inspections are typically once a week on Wednesdays.
