Mission Statement

The mission of the Solid Waste Department is to provide an integrated, cost effective and environmentally sound solid waste disposal system to all City residents and businesses with the highest level of customer service.

Description of Activities

The Solid Waste Department oversees the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials.  In accordance with City codes (Code of Ordinance Chapter 50), the City has exclusive rights over solid waste and recycling services within the City limits.

Collection Days

Please ensure that all items to be picked up are placed at the curb in the proper cart with the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street. The Solid Waste Department recommends, to insure proper pickup, that you put your cart out the night before your scheduled pickup.

Monday: - (Beginning February 3, 2020) Residential Garbage Pickup for Grand Reserve only. Commercial dumpsters, 
Yard waste (entire city) - Compact Piles no larger than 6'x6'x6'; No string, plastic ties, hoses, Plastic bags or other debris with yard waste.

Tuesday: Residential - Garbage pick-up except Grand Reserve, Commercial cardboard dumpsters

Wednesday: Residential and Commercial hand cart Recycling pick-up
You may recycle cardboard boxes and pantry food type boxes they must be free from food residue, and plastic bags food came in, aluminum cans, aluminum bottles, and aluminum pans must be free from food residue Please put them all together in the yellow lidded recycling cart loosely, Do not place in bags of any kind, and place the cart to the curb the Solid Waste Department recommends, to ensure proper pickup, that you put your cart out the night before your scheduled pickup. Do not put glass, plastic of any kind, milk and juice cartons, metal jar lids, A/C Filters, Plastic bags, Clothing, Flourescent bulbs, and no yard waste in the recycle carts. 

Thursday: Commercial dumpsters, and Residential Garbage pick-up Grand Reserve only

Friday: Residential Garbage pick-up except Grand Reserve. Commercial dumpsters, and  Bulk Pick up for the entire city.
