Community Development

Message from the Director:

The Community Development Department is proud to support the City Commission, residents, business owners, and property owners of Bunnell. Our mission is to help realize the City Commission’s vision by fostering a clean, dynamic, and inclusive community. We are dedicated to promoting growth and success for both individuals and businesses, embracing the unique blend of urban charm and rural character that defines Bunnell. As a city with a rich historic core and expansive annexed rural areas, we work diligently to meet the distinct needs of each, ensuring balanced and thoughtful development across all areas.

Pro Development Message

The City Commission has made it clear: "Bunnell is open for business." With everything in place to support and encourage both new and existing businesses, as well as residential development, Bunnell offers affordable land, low development costs, and a City Commission with a strong pro-business vision. Bunnell is truly the "Crossroads of Flagler County," strategically located at the intersection of three state roads and a railway, with close proximity to the Intracoastal Waterway—and just minutes from the beautiful beaches of Flagler County!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Community Development Department is to foster sustainable growth and community vitality by guiding thoughtful development, revitalizing key areas, and ensuring that Bunnell’s vision is realized through the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for all residents by promoting a balanced approach to development that reflects the unique character of our city.
