Community Redevelopment Agency

The Goal of the Community Redevelopment Agency

The Goal of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is to work with the Commission, CRA Board, Committee, Staff, Business owners and Residents in revitalizing the downtown area to include preserving our history, beautification and supporting existing businesses as well as encouraging new opportunities.

The City of Bunnell began the process to establish a CRA within its City limits in 2004. The City Commission was committed to revitalizing its core downtown and ensuring that as the City grew through annexations and development to the outskirts of the core downtown, the County Seat would remain vibrant and not decay as many downtowns do when development occurs. The Commission, as well as the community felt that the creation of the CRA was in the best interest of the City and created a CRA Advisory Committee to begin the process. Many meetings and public input took place over the period of 2004 and 2006.

The CRA was established in 2007 for the purpose of generating funding based Tax Increment Financing (TIF). This means if taxable value increases in the CRA area, the increase is utilized to fund improvements and projects within the CRA area.  The taxable value in the CRA at that time of its formation was $68,433,904.00

The goal of the CRA is to support businesses with the CRA.
