We, the members of the Bunnell Police Department, are proud of our town and of our commitment to provide the highest quality of police services to the citizens, who live, work, and visit our community.
The Bunnell Police Department is a professional organization that takes great pride in providing enhance public safety with the goal of improving the quality of life within the City of Bunnell, while at the same time maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity. We strive to lead our profession with honor, integrity and professionalism. It is our goal to be recognized as a model agency in the law-enforcement community.
I am honored to serve as the Chief of Police of Bunnell. The men and women of the Bunnell Police Department are proud of our agency and thank all the citizens of our community for their continued support. By working together, we can keep Bunnell a safe place to live, visit, conduct business, and raise a family.
The mission of the Bunnell Police Department is to safeguard life and property, preserve the peace, prevent and detect crime, enforce the law, and protect the rights of all citizens. We are committed to working in partnership with the community, to identify and resolve issues that impact safety.
A History of Service to the Community
The Bunnell Police Department began its service to the citizens of Bunnell in 1913 and was formed by utilizing a single officer called the Town Marshal. The City of Bunnell’s first Town Marshal was Ernest Walter Johnston. The Town Marshal worked out of the Bunnell City Hall located at 200 South Church Street.
