Water Plant Upgrades Prompt Water Conservation Request

Bunnell (May 24, 2024) – Infrastructure continues to work through the Utilities Master Plan.  Part of the plan includes upgrades to the high service pumps.  The high service pumps are a series of water pumps that provides the City’s water system with pressure.  Unfortunately, these pumps will have to be shut down in order to install the new controller.

The City has an interconnect with the City of Palm Coast water system.  The Infrastructure Team has coordinated with the City of Palm Coast, for them to assist in providing water pressure to our system while these pumps are down.

The work on the pump controllers will begin Tuesday May 28th.  It is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday May 29th.  However, it is possible the installation can extend into Wednesday May 30th.

Infrastructure would like our customers to be aware there may be fluctuations in the system pressure while the work is being done.  And to requests our customers conserve water as much as possible during this time.

The new controller has been on site for some time now.  The contractor performing the installation has had to reschedule a number of times.  But it looks like it is going to happen next week.

The City would like to thank the City of Palm Coast for their assistance in this endeavor.  And our customers for their assistance and understanding during this process.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Infrastructure Department at (386)437-7515
