Fifth generation native Floridian from Port Orange.  Donnie has 2 AS degrees from what is now Daytona State College in Drafting and Design Technology and Construction Technology.  Although he took programming classes in High School, Donnie really started getting interested in computers with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) working on these degrees. 

Donnie worked on and later led a survey crew for Halifax Paving, Inc. staking parking lots, roadways, retention ponds, field estimating, core drilling for testing purposes, assisting in stormwater pipeline installation (shooting invert elevations of the segments as set in place) etc. 

Then went to work in the Engineering Department at the City of Daytona Beach.  For a time, he was the Water and Wastewater Engineer’s Assistant.  Coordinating work programs between the Engineering Department, and field crews, coordinating DEP documents for developments, etc.  Then was promoted to a Drafting Specialist where he produced civil engineering drawings both on board by hand, and in the computer.

Starting as a Mapping Specialist in the Planning Department, Donnie has a wide range of experience at Flagler County.  Everything from traffic counts, and turning movement counts to developing a grant awarded Coastal Greenway map, to E-911 Coordinator to leading the Information Technology Department.

During this time, Donnie went back to school and completed a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Flagler College in St Augustine.

Starting with the City of Bunnell in 2014, Donnie has: 

Designed, and implemented multiple office moves: Out of the GSB to temporary offices, then to what was to be permanent offices at the Administrative complex after rebuilding the facilities network infrastructure.  Now with the evacuation of the Administrative complex, relocated most of the departments to now temporary facilities again while a new City Hall is built.

Migrated all of the City’s technology infrastructure off of County facilities.  The City now stands on it’s own in regards to technology with the exception of the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records system utilized by the Police Department, and hosted by the County, county wide. 

Maintains all City IT infrastructure. 

Provided training in multiple areas.

Essentially if it plugs into the wall, and doesn't deal with food service, it is likely his responsibility.
