Tonya Gordon

Elected to a City Commissioner seat in March 2020 and sworn into office April 13, 2020, Commissioner Gordon was born in the Bunnell General Hospital to James & Mary Snyder. She is the youngest of three children. She started school at Bunnell Elementary School and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School, where her mother and daughter also graduated.

She has worked as office manager for Elbert Tucker Insurance Inc for 16 years. She has her Insurance Customer Service License and Certification in Accounting and is working on getting her Agent License. Her employment history includes working for Dr. Morris Carter, Dr. Safwan Shams, and the Putnam Community Hospital, as a Surgical Technician.

She has spent the last 21 years raising her daughter, who is a Florida State University graduate.

Commissioner Gordon is a history enthusiast and spends her spare time researching family genealogy and local history. She also volunteers her time as treasurer for the Flagler County Fair and Youth Show and Flagler County Historical Society.
