Bunnell, FL (December 8, 2021) – On December 7, 2021, Judge Totten swore in Brannon Snead as the City of Bunnell Interim Police Chief; a space that needed to be filled after Chief Tom Foster submitted his resignation on December 2, 2021. This is an Interim appointment as the City will need to go through the formal and open hiring process to appoint a permanent police chief.

Chief Snead brings a wealth of experience, leadership and vision to the City. His law enforcement background runs deep as his father was also in law enforcement. Chief Snead has spent the majority of his career with the Florida Highway Patrol with brief time serving as an officer in Tallahassee. He has worked in the private sector and as a consultant for the Federal Emergency Management Administration. For the past almost five years, Chief Snead has been a Reserve Commander for the city of Gretna, Florida.

City Manager Alvin Jackson is excited about this opportunity for the City since Chief Snead “fits extremely well with the leadership team of the City.” Chief Snead is ready to take on this role and will make sure that the Bunnell Police Department and the City identifies what needs to be done and takes care of it; each day he is prepared to make sure the City puts its best foot forward.
