Mayor Writes to Governor on Behalf of Local Business

Bunnell, FL (June 1, 2020) – The City officials have heard the pleas from the City’s local business, especially bars, about the need to re-open. While the City does not regulate business operations for such businesses as bars or restaurants, this is done by the Florida Department of Business Profession Regulation, nor control the re-opening of these business as the City did not adopt more strict measures during this pandemic, Mayor Catherin D. Robinson was compelled to speak on their behalf.

On May 30, 2020, Mayor Robinson sent a letter to Governor DeSantis on behalf of Bunnell local businesses. While deferring to the State and the experts guiding the Governor with the re-opening of the State and State regulated businesses, she expressed the business who are still yet to open are willing to abide by any distancing and safety issues needed to protect their employees and their customers stating “My bar owners are committed to adhering to the guidelines in order to their businesses and work to get back on their feet.”

A copy of the letter was also sent to Representative Renner and Representative Hutson.
