End of Watch: Sergeant Dominic Guida

Bunnell, FL (November 9, 2021) – This evening, Sergeant Dominic Guida passed away.

Sergeant Guida was participating in a training event with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. During the training he suffered a cardiac event and was rushed to Advent Health Hospital. He passed away at the hospital. Mayor Robinson, Vice Mayor Rogers, Commissioner Gordon and Commissioner Barnes were at the hospital when the City learned his of his passing.

Sergeant Guida joined the Bunnell Police Department in July 2016. He worked his way through the ranks and had been promoted to Sergeant in January 2020. He was a much-loved officer and co-worker. He loved his job and being in the community.

Statement from Mayor Catherine Robinson:
“This is a day of sorrow and tragedy. The death of Dominic Guida is a profound loss to the City and the Bunnell Police Department.”

Statement from City Manager Alvin B. Jackson, Jr.:
This is all very numbing time and hard to believe we lost him so fast. He was truly a kind, humble, fun loving and lively Police Sergeant. There will be a great hole in our City and Police Department. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dominic, our Police Chief and our officers.”

Any arrangements for public ceremonies will be announced once they are determined.
