DECEMBER 24, 2022 PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE UPDATE

On December 24th there was an electrical issue at the Bunnell Water Treatment Plant.  This electrical issue is what caused the temporary shutdown of the plant and the need for a 2nd Precautionary Boil Water Notice last week; it was not a water quality issue. 

Because the testing lab was closed for the holidays and they did not open until Tuesday, December 27th, the required samples could not be delivered for testing which could then allow the Precautionary Notice to be lifted based on sample testing results.  It is anticipated the PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE could be lifted Thursday or Friday. 

The City has already contacted an electrician to address the problem to prevent it from re-occurring.  We regret the burden this Precautionary Notice placed on customers over the holidays.

As soon as the PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE can be lifted, a City website notice will be sent out to those registered to receive such notices through the City website and a Facebook post will be made.
