Arrest Made of Suspect Falsely Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer

Bunnell, FL (April 12, 2022) – On April 11, 2022 the Bunnell Police Department arrested Jesse David Stover for Falsely Impersonating an Officer.

Bunnell Police Department was dispatched to Wendy’s on Commerce Parkway to respond to a report of suspicious activity. During the investigation which involved interviews with Mr. Stover, several Wendy’s employees and a customer, it was reported Mr. Stover had asked to be given the law enforcement discount for the purchase being made. Stover was asked to provide his law enforcement identification at which time he quickly flashed a gold-colored badge to the Wendy’s staff and then demanded the discount again. When the request was denied, an argument ensued. During that argument, Stover then reported he was not a police officer but worked for DEA as an undercover agent.

During the investigation, it was further discovered that Stover, a regular customer at this Wendy’s, had been demanding and getting this discount for over two years. Stover was placed under arrest and post Miranda Rights the badge being used to impersonate a law enforcement officer was discovered to be a concealed weapon permit badge which is very similar to a law enforcement badge.
