The FDOT Contract

In July of 2005 the City of Bunnell signed a three year contract with the Florida Department of Transportation to work asset management along all the State Roads within Flagler County and parts of Volusia County. This contract is unique as asset management is typically run by private companies rather than municipalities. By taking on this contract the City was able to have funds to purchase equipment to meet the requirements of the contract and also use this equipment within the City limits. The City refers to this division of Public Works as Bunnell Maintenance Service or BMS for short. So when you see a Bunnell City truck out on a State road in the county take pride in the fact that Bunnell is accomplishing what no other city in Florida has.
