In 2005, the City entered into an agreement with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) leading to the addition of a whole new division within the Public Works Department now called Bunnell Maintenance Service (BMS). BMS is responsible for managing and performing routine maintenance associated with pavement, roadway, drainage, roadside, vegetation and aesthetics, traffic services, incident management within FDOT right-a-way in Flagler County and portions of Volusia County. BMS is also responsible for the maintenance of the FDOT Weigh Station located on SR US1 southbound, just north of Palm Coast Parkway in Palm Coast. Our Department also performs maintenance of the State Highway Lighting System involving fifty-five street lights on SR US1 between the Volusia County Line and the St. Johns County Line, sixteen street lights on SR 100 East between SR US1 and SR A1A, and four street lights on SR 11 between the Volusia County Line to SR US1. Additionally, the traffic signals located at the intersections of SR US1 and SR 100 East and SR 100 West are also maintained by our Department. Maps
