Mayor Catherine Robinson was elected Mayor for the City of Bunnell in 2008, after serving on the City Commission for 13 years as a Commissioner and serving as Vice Mayor for eight of those years. I am a native Floridian, born at the Jacksonville Naval Hospital while my dad fought in the Korean War. My mom retired from Harris Appliance & Furniture after 47 years and my father was elected Superintendent of Schools in Flagler County for 18 years.

I am the oldest of four children and graduated from Bunnell High School (K-12 grade) with a county graduating class of 53 students. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in dietetics and earned my masters degree in education with a specialty in adult and postsecondary education from Capella University. I was raised in Bunnell and have lived here for most of my adult life. I am married to Rick Robinson, who is a teacher, and together we have four grown children and one grandchild.

My employment of the past 15 years is with Florida Health Care Plans, who services Flagler and Volusia County. I am a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes educator, working as a health educator.

I have served on several committees for Flagler County, including the Pedestrian Bikeway committee and the Rails to Trails committee, and served on the Bunnell Charter Review Committee. I belong to the Flagler County League of Mayors and represent Bunnell at the Northeast Florida Regional Council.

In my spare time, I like to play tennis, racquetball, and enjoy the beautiful nature walks and bike paths throughout Flagler County. I love to dance and have a good time with family and friends. I consider it a blessing to sing on the praise team and I was elected to serve on the finance committee in my church. I participated in 5 mission trips in the southeastern part of the United States, rehabbing homes and replacing roofs.

My interest in Bunnell politics began with a natural-born interest of how the governmental process works and a desire to lower the property taxes and still maintain services to the community. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve at the will of the wonderful people of Bunnell. It is my prayer that my experiences will serve to work toward a better place to live with improvements of safety and quality of life for all of our citizens.
